P1050458   P1050449
What?  It's after midnight and you need a softshell crab sandwich?  Johnny Brenda's can make it happen.  They were a little heavy handed with the salt, but I forgave them since they made me a sandwich that was the size of my head.  Really.
Bread: Oversized, toasty.
Filling: Whole softshell crab, mayo, lettuce, tomato: fresh.
Johnny Brenda's: 1201 Frankford Ave. Philadelphia, PA

This little guy was freakin' delicious.  Easily the best crabcake I have ever had in my life.

Trout Sandwich @ Casamento's

This is a tiny secret place and I walked past it many, many times without being able to locate it.  Also, they have mysterious and limited hours of operation.  But persistence pays off. Gumbo?  Check.  Oysters?  Check. Local Dixie beer served in a dixie cup sized glass? Adorable.
Bread: The thickest white bread ever, compressably soft.
Filling: Piping-hot, battered and fried trout with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.
Casamento's, 4330 Magazine St. New Orleans, Louisiana 70115
